Governance

The NDC is community led, with a board of 18 directors who give final approval to development and spending plans. Two resident directors represent each of the six residential sub areas:

Fincham, Finch House, Hillside, Primalt, Woolfall North and Woolfall South.

The rest of the board comprises two councillors and four members from partner agencies.

The Future

The NDC programme ends in March 2011. Our proposed succession strategy is to create an accountable body and Community Interest Company to ensure that local people continue to be influential in the regeneration of their own community.

We are currently negotiating this strategy, but it is the NDC board’s intention to continue, based on the overall objectives of community cohesion, continuing the housing redevelopment and closing the gap in thematic performance with the borough.
