North Huyton is now one of the best-performing NDCs in the country, with ‘excellence’ status awarded for the last 5 years so far.
- ‘Feel part of the community’ – up from 39% - 47%
- ‘Think NDC has improved the area’ – up from 37% - 55%
- Over 1500 new local adults brought into learning since 2004 by parent mentor project
- 2007: Municipal Journal Award for Best Achievement in Tackling Health Inequalities Project: our campaign to reduce teenage pregnancies
- 2007: 50% reduction in theft with Chameleon project’s Smart Water initiative
- 2008: best ever Key Stage 1 results exceeded the Knowsley average in Writing and matched the borough average in Reading
- 2008: £6.5 million construction skills and training centre opened
- 2008: £4.265m primary care resource centre opened
- 2009: Key stage 2 schools exceeded national & borough averages in Maths and Science
- 2009: Christ the King joint faith learning centre opened – a first in Knowsley
- 2009: £1m purpose built modern youth facility at the River Alt Resource Centre officially opens
- ‘An outstanding success’– annual midsummer community festival in its 7th year
- To date the Small Change Big Difference grants scheme has awarded over 90 local groups with grants totalling £307,652.98
